For just a moment you were mine. I hold you ever so tightly as we laid atop the cozy beach blanket. The sun was setting, peaking brightly between the mountains. Scattered powder puff clouds perfectly placed about the evening sky. For just a moment it was about me loving you and you loving me and the time we made so we could remember what brought us together. A picture perfect moment under the evening sky where I held you tightly making the promise that you’d always be mine in sickness and in health, till death do us part. Suddenly, I awaken in a cold sweat remembering that I lost you ten years back to cancer. My memories of you are stuck on the moment where I once professed my love to you. Now I must work hard to push back the pain and move forward savoring the moment.
