The Fear of Losing You©

Desperately she tries to hold on to you. Working from home, so as not to shake you. Eating healthy, so as to give you only nutrients. Never raising her voice, so you only know good vibes. She listens to classical music, the 70s, 80s and 90s so you know and appreciate much that’s she’s about.

Desperately she lays awake at night hoping that she is strong enough to hold on to you. Suddenly, she feels powerless as the pain takes over her that slowly starts pulling you away. Medication flowing through her veins trying to stop the pull. The pain no longer matters. Hope is all that’s left to hold on to.

Desperately she prays as the doctor enters the room straight faced. She imagines the worst, but is relieved to hear his words, “you’re out of danger the baby is going to be fine now.”

She promises herself to put the baby first even if that means no work for now. This chance may never come again. No longer does she hold onto the fear of losing you.
