She came down so hard on me
I cried so hard a river did fall
Her words so harsh the sea was so clear for all to see
The words like blades of a razor nipping at the tips of my veins
One spot closer and that would be the end
The next time she promises she’ll shield herself from the pain
But there just doesn’t seem to be a wall high or thick enough
To withstand nor hold back the pain
Where does she find the strength to keep moving on ahead?
She’s stronger than I was ever meant to be
Pain is our enemy and is not meant to be a companion
Chase away those feelings
Those people who only come bearing pain
We live this life but once
We hope to hold on as long as we can
The thought of pain or fear shortens our time here in this place
So cancel the slot reserved for those who hurt and move into a new space in time
