What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time?

What treasures shall I bear?
The weight of the sky in my pocket,
a whisper of yesterday in my palm,
and the fragile light of tomorrow
cupped gently between my hands.

If your road is carved by wheels,
carry with you a pilgrim’s chest:
a voice to call for help,
bread and water enough to outlast a week of storms,
coin for the tolls no map foresees,
balm for the body’s wounds,
flame coaxed from match or steel,
light to break the dark,
canvas to shelter your dreams,
cloth to change your skin,
blankets to keep the night at bay,
remedies for the ailments you know,
and the scrolls of your life—
guarded in a fireproof vault,
tucked away where only trust can find them.

If we speak of what the hands can hold,
let it be your phone—
a key to summon care when shadows press close,
a vault for the names and numbers
that prove who you are,
a bridge that spans the miles
to your hearth,
your work,
and the voices of those
who steady your heart.

If we speak of what cannot be packed,
then carry your center—
that quiet compass within.
For if it slips beyond your grasp,
if you cannot reach its stillness,
the map fades,
and you drift
untethered in the wind.
