What are your feelings about eating meat?
When I was a kid, I was often nearly force-fed liver. The look, the smell, and the feeling were all just as bad as the taste of the liver as it hit the taste buds and slithered down my throat immediately igniting my gag reflex and making me vomit.
Wanting to give meat another chance, I enjoyed the taste of salmon, steak, pork tenderloin, and mushroom burgers, tasting best when made by me.
Needing multiple surgeries to treat various illnesses, suddenly my body changed and I was no longer able to tolerate or digest whether by allergy or the inability to break down the food in my system. I saw this all coming from the liver as a child.
Being a vegetarian now isn’t so bad. It’s truly been my preference. Honestly, I’m one of those people who worry about the look on the face of the poor animal as they meet their maker to feed the mouths of humans. That’s something I just can’t bear no matter how much I might miss the smell or taste of the salmon, steak, pork tenderloin, and mushroom burgers, tasting best when made by me.
Please know that I’m not here to judge anyone or tell you what to do. My feelings are my own just as the needs of my mind and body.
However, the choice is yours to eat meat or not to eat meat. It’s one of those forbidden, selfish, inner desires we as humans face daily.
Torn – to eat meat or not to eat meat is the question.©️
