Christmas tree2 Merry Christmas 2015

I’m donning my red, green, Gold, White, and Blue

A little Holly, Ivy and Mistletoe is our greening cheer and

Brings hope for a bright Spring Season ahead

With A red apple in hand to remind us of Adam

Holly-berries remind us of blood from Jesus as he hung on the cross

Bishops wear read so Santa wears red like good old St. Nicholas did

Wrapped in Christmas

The color of Gold keeps us warm as the star’s light up the sky

It led the wise-man to baby Jesus where he received the gift of gold

White represents the purity as pure as the first drops of snow

White as pure as it is lies upon the church altar

and white wafers offered as a symbol of bread as we rememer Jesus

Mary wears the color blue and we know her as the mother of Jesus

Blue is also the color of the sky that is home to the heavens above

Blue and purple are the colors that line the altar during advent

Wrapped in Christmas

Christmas means different things to different people

For me it’s about giving to those who are without what’s needed

It’s about the unforgettable moments I spend with my family

The reflection of the years gone by

The food that we all enjoy eating

The games we all enjoy playing

and the Shows we all enjoy watching together

Mostly, we enjoy seeing the people that we might not get to see during the year or years past

But we share our experiences and stories and hear the laughter or pride in their voices and smiles in their faces as they recall it all

Because they are Wrapped in Christmas and at this time of year there is no better place and no better way to be

A message to those that don’t celebrate Christmas

This poem is NOT meant to take away from whatever anyone else may celebrate. I wanted to honor a time that I enjoy spending with my family honoring each other in the best way we know how. So if you celebrate something other than Christmas, I honor your celebration and don’t wish to take anything from you. I open my heart to our difference and receive all there is to know and learn about you. If your day of celebration has already passed, I hope it was fruitful. If it is yet to come, may you enjoy the festivities and wrap yourself in all there is to celebrate.
