Summer silently slips into the background

Closing its season until next year

Fall storms in not looking back

It’s untrained nature and

Untimely changes

Leaves us unprepared for our

Day-to-day travels

Sickness takes hold of those with

Weakened immunities

Daring them to fight back

Desire pulls them through it

On the heels of hope for a warmer tomorrow

That are filled with falling leaves that

Mount high in both every front and back yard

Time to make leaf angels to send Fall on its way
