I’ve held many a thing in my hands through the years. My first mud pie. The earthworms I made homes for as s child. The sand that slipped through my fingers making sand castles. The papers I carried and delivered to my neighbors each morning. The pages I turned in a book. Every test I ever took. Each boyfriend I had until I met you. But the most precious to me is the hands of each of my children once they were old enough to inspect me. It’s only fare as I inspected them once I birthed them. The most precious gifts are those that we give ourselves.
