There is a girl that I use to know who at the age of 12 survived a horrific assault. In a town where families raise their young because they feel it’s safe, free of violence and full of class and wholesome values to boot. This town was the birthplace of JFK, home to former Michael Dukakis and the one and only Conan O’Brien. There is a word so ugly that no one wants to think it and they certainly don’t want to have to say, but on one not so fine day at 4:38 am, this perfect little girl, became a pedal fallen from a perfect rose. Her innocence stolen by the father of someone she knew, someone she had respected, someone she would never be able to face again. Surely I’ve been clear with my description that I don’t need to use the word telling you just what happened in my little town.
