Standing By

A change of heart and mind

Do we ever stop to think what this might mean to another?

The one who sits waiting anxiously by on our every word

Who puts on hold their future?

Just waiting for the right words to slip from our lips

Everything we seem to come out in code only

We know the true definition still leaving others waiting by and by

A wonder of what our reasons are for not having the ability

Or willingness to decide on a future

A direction to take

We are asked if more time is what we need

We reply

Our clock has no hands and therefore time has no meaning

So they continue on in standby mode of life
