Today was a day to remember as I stood by watching you accept the gold No one knows the work that it takes The hours of training The lack of a personal life Missing friends and loved ones The food that we drool for and know we can’t have  Our life is not our own…

Today was a day to remember as I stood by watching you accept the gold

No one knows the work that it takes

The hours of training

The lack of a personal life

Missing friends and loved ones

The food that we drool for and know we can’t have

Our life is not our own when in training for the gold

We never rest enough for we’re always training

We are the dawn of the living dead

But as we stand on the field of glory

Raised above the rest

All the pain, anguish and fear is just another memory

For we’ve won the gold and that’s our story!
