Love Should Never Kill You©

Love should never kill you. It’s meant to heal and sooth you. If ever you are uncertain as to your lovers intentions, guard your heart. Put up your shield and run for cover. Don’t let them strip you down to nothing. Don’t let them take the life that you worked so hard to build. Your err in judgement could leave your friends and family mourning the loss of you for your lovers discontent. No man, or no woman should come between the love you have for yourself or your family.

This poem was written in loving memory of my friend, Tanya Nichols, who was killed at the hand of her boyfriend. Don’t lose yourself to domestic violence.
