In the Shadow of my Past©

Hollow now is my heart that was once full of you.

Full of an idea that brought hope to a future others could not see.

Now time has passed and devastation has taken claim of my dreams.

I can’t bare the idea that something unseen has taken so much from us.

But I’ve since lost the strength along with the desire to care.

My one wish would be to turn back time and wash away all that’s come about.

I hope to see a future that is greater than that I have lived for a time in the shadow of my past.
