Working humbles me

It keeps me proud
It makes me work toward my silver lining

No matter how difficult

Not matter the duration

Determined to succeed I am

My only desired reward

Is the time I hope to spend with you

In leisure upon an island

Made just for two

In the years ahead

Once our children have moved on

Heretofore our time has become our own

No more 9-5

Staggering deadlines

Rush hour traffic

Just carefree moments

Spent blissfully

In the company of one another

My work will be endless

As I bide my time

Until I’m ready to collect what is due me

I can now see my silver lining
