They are not always visible

Most often they don’t even heal

Those you don’t see usually hurt the most

But keep your mind working

to push out the bad memories

Deal with the pain so that there is room enough for the good memories

Don’t let your scars become your new skin

Peel them back and step out all anew

Like a brand new face in the crowds

Scars may show, but they don’t define you
