There once was a girl whose hair flowed like glittering gold even in the absence of the sun.
Her smile lifted every frown.
Her laugh was infectious and sent title waves throughout the town.
Every tear was chased away with just the mere hint of her grin.
What I would have given to be that girl.
Now I hear tell that she’s grown and with child.
Her hair still glistens golder than the sun.
Her smile still lifting every frown.
We all now worry if her child will come and take her smile away.
And turn her cold hair to gray.
For if it does.
Every eye in town will drip and every smile will scatter.
There’s no telling how or when we will ever see her smile again.
