What things give you energy?
There’s magic in the food we eat,
In the streams of liquid, cool and sweet,
But deeper still, beyond the plate,
Lies something that makes hearts vibrate.
For when the world is cold and wide,
When shadows stretch and hope may hide,
I find the force that lets me rise—
It’s not in meal, but in the skies.
It’s in the eyes that meet my gaze,
In every smile that gently stays.
A look that says, “You’ve touched my soul,”
A warmth that fills the empty hole.
It’s not just what I take or give,
But how I help the world to live.
A whispered hope, a hand to lend,
That turns the dark to light again.
In knowing, deep, that I’ve made way,
For someone else to face the day,
I find my strength, my heart’s own fire,
It fuels me more, lifts me higher.
The dance of dreams, the call of change,
A pulse, a rhythm, soft, yet strange.
In every step, in every turn,
The energy inside will burn.
It’s in the knowing, here and now,
That what I do will show me how
To rise and face the trials near,
To push, to fight, to persevere.
I feed the fire with what I give,
In lifting others, I, too, live.
For when I know I’ve paved the way,
My spirit blooms, and I’ll not sway.
And when the work is done and done,
I feel the glow of battles won.
A spark that shifts, a light that grows,
The truth within that softly glows.
So feed me not just bread and wine,
But hearts, and hopes, and dreams divine.
For when I touch and when I try,
My energy will touch the sky.
And when I rest, I’ll find the key,
To feed my soul eternally.
For when I give, when I ignite,
I become the flame, I take flight.
