What are your favorite types of foods?

My favorite foods are charms I keep,

for waking hours and for sleep.

They come to me like whispered runes,

softly sung beneath the moon.

Fruits are faerie-offerings, bright,

not too sweet, never bitter’s bite.

Each one a jewel from orchard skies,

a secret spell the earth supplies.

Coconut, a riddle rare,

I’ll taste its flesh with tender care.

But in the cup it hides its song,

except in Bai, where it belongs.

Tofu—an alchemist’s dream,

shifting shapes in a silver stream.

It listens, learns, and wears the guise

of every herb the cook supplies.

Most days I walk the gardened land,

with leafy treasures in my hand.

Yet when my spirit needs the sea,

salmon and shrimp swim home to me.

Vegetables—sorcerers all,

green wands that answer nature’s call.

Each one a rune, a sacred sign,

their colors glow, their powers align.

But beware the curse of heavy hand,

too much salt, or spice unplanned—

the magic breaks, the spell turns thin,

and harmony won’t settle in.

So I dine where moonlight weaves,

among the roots, the fruits, the leaves.

By earth and water, flame and air,

I call forth comfort everywhere.

With every bite, the circle’s whole—

a feast that nourishes my soul.
