We are not all that we appear,
Sitting quietly in corners unseen,
Where no one calls our name,
And silence wraps around our soul like a veil.
What thoughts linger there in the depths,
In corners of the mind, untouched by light?
What memories sit like stones, heavy,
Holding us still, so still,
That even breath feels distant.

Temptation dares not come near,
For the weight of fear anchors us in place,
Fear of what’s beyond,
Of shadows we cannot name.
Old, unwanted memories rise like ghosts,
Whispering why we remain the same,
Never more than we were,
Fated to wander in a maze of ‘what ifs.’

But still, there is a flicker,
A quiet yearning beneath the weight,
To stand, to move, to become—
To leave the shadow and touch the light.
What if we could rise above the fear,
Break the chains of the past?
What if we could become the dream
We once let slip away, forgotten?
