What TV shows did you watch as a kid?
We gathered close in evening’s glow,
One screen to share, one world to know.
Each night a window, wide and bright,
To tales that danced in black and white.
We roamed the hills with the Walton kin,
And watched Little House where hearts begin.
With lawman’s eye and justice stout,
Gunsmoke rode and Rawhide shouted out.
The Lawrence Welk Show played its tune,
While Ozzie & Harriet lit up the room.
Strange shadows came in twilight’s zone,
Where Lost in Space felt far from home.
The Outer Limits bent the mind,
As Jeanie floated, sweet and kind.
The Flintstones rolled in rock-aged cars,
While The Jetsons dreamed among the stars.
With Carol’s wit and sketches bold,
And Bunker’s world, both gruff and cold.
We laughed with Gleason‘s roaring might,
Then puzzled, “Car 54—where are you tonight?”
Adam 12 kept streets in line,
While Dark Shadows chilled the spine.
Each show a thread in memory’s seam,
A stitch in time, a shared daydream.
There may be more—there always are,
But we must pause before too far.
For in that glow, we all could see,
More than a show… it was family.
