“A Path for the Future”
What would you do, if a stranger came near,
Shouting, “Move! I was here first!”—driven by fear?
Even when truth wasn’t stitched in their claim,
And their eyes held no justice, just anger and blame?
What if they shoved you, took what was yours,
Believing your presence darkened their doors?
With hearts closed by hate, their judgment so small,
Declaring, “Your kind doesn’t belong here at all.”
Are these acts of race, or acts of despair?
Born from a world that forgot how to care?
Not all is racism, though pain may be loud—
Sometimes it’s just fear, disguised in a crowd.
I don’t blame one soul for what many have taught—
Ignorance is planted, not something self-brought.
But we each hold a light, a duty, a role,
To mend what is broken, to make others whole.
For life’s sweetest key is joy, not divide—
Not whispers of slander, or hatred implied.
Yet too many crumble, give in to the storm,
Waging wars on the different, far from the norm.
But love is a mission, and peace is a guide—
If we open our arms and set ego aside.
To know one another, to listen, to see—
Is the work of the spirit, the soul’s truest plea.
Let us rise to the task, rebuild what we can,
With hearts full of courage and hands that withstand.
Together we forge, not alone in our fight,
A future made stronger by compassion and light.
