What colleges have you attended?

Despite being in the top 10% of my graduating class, I opted to attend community college since I wasn’t rolling in the dough as the saying was back then. I also knew I would have no real campus life as it just wasn’t who I was. I was never really a party girl and had to work to pay my way, so Roxbury Community College was where I spent my first two years of college while working 40+ hours a week. Then the college relocated and it was no longer convenient for me to attend.

I took a college break and enrolled in the Bryman Schools Medical Office Management Program. It was an intensive six-month certificate program where you must maintain a B- or above to continue. I worked nights and weekends as a waitress and completed both an internship and externship at Mass Mental Hospital.

Newbury College was my next stop. Since I was already a single mother of one and working full time, I was attending on weekends. Which was 9 am – 5 pm every Saturday for two years.

Then as a widowed mother of three, I attended Emmanuel College at night for a year while of course still working full time. Sadly, with all the time I spent attending school, I never walked away with a degree. It’s my working goal to obtain my degree but honestly, it hasn’t stunted my ability to learn and be successful in any of the work that I do.
