What was the last thing you did for play or fun?

It was a warm Saturday night in August and two of my grandchildren were spending the night. We had an hour to play before I had to start dinner. My granddaughter just happened to spot my water bottle, comb, and brush on the table to the right of my bed, nothing more needed to be said, my grandson started spraying my hair, and my granddaughter was combing my hair. You never realize how bad your tangles are until a child tries to comb them out. After totally drenching my hair, my grandson brushed my hair while his sister combed it. I felt like there was a game of tug-of-war going on in every root of hair on my head. What else could I do but laugh? My laugh triggered their laughter. Their giggles were so intoxicating that our trio of laughter bounced off the walls. Their mom texted from the apartment below asking if everything was going ok. My only reply was “Of course, your children are just doing my hair.” Moments such as these prove that you don’t always need money in your pocket to put a smile on your face.

Fun is always near when my family is close by.
