Looking to the future©️

Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

There are many days I sit and map out my future, where I want to be, what I want to be doing, and where I want to travel. However, when I found out years ago that my husband was and had been cheating on me for some time, my thoughts of the future became distorted. The one thing I did know was that I was going to start focussing on what I wanted for myself. I’ve always been a person that puts everyone else first. Being that I’m a mother of sux that comes naturally to me. Now that I’m older, I realize I deserve to shift gears.

Let’s say I did see myself spending more time with family which I am grateful that I’m able to do. But I’m certainly spending time focusing on my desires such as my volunteer commitments. However, the one thing I’ve wanted to do was finish my college education so I have to find a way to fit that in as well.

There is nothing worse than feeling incomplete or being mad at oneself for feeling you’ve failed yourself. Believe me, I know I’m doing my best, but I want to do better.

Next year at this time, I want to be at least another step closer than I was last year.
