What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

Checking my morning Instagram I came across a young man by the name of Max Alexander. This young man was born in 2016 and in 2021 he had already launched his couture clothing line. This is not something that most children of his age would be doing. He has achieved a Guinness world record for his work.

Normally kids are outside on a skateboard l, playing in a park, or doing experiments. Max is instead designing clothes in a way that people in their 30s would be doing. Max inspires me to do more, to be more.

Recently, I was approached by the aunt of a young man by the name of Rohan living in Lexington, but the aunt lives in Brookline he was looking for various ways to donate his time to various causes. His aunt came across the work that I was doing as the chair of the indigenous people celebration committee. This young man decided that he wanted me to mentor him and work with me on various projects that I was doing. Rohan is 15 years old. It’s my understanding that he’s already volunteering his time in so many different ways.

Rohan is hoping to teach math to Indigenous individuals who frequent NIACOB in Jamaica Plane. Math is a subject that Rohan doesn’t like but happens to be quite talented at. I am honored to have been sought out by him. He reminds me of myself when I was doing something quite similar at the YWCA.

I encourage every person to follow their heart and their dreams never letting age get in the way.
