It’s hard living inside someone else’s sorrow. Being blamed for their pain, being targeted for all that someone else has done wrong to them, taking the beatings meant for someone else, taking the painful words that you thought you’d never hear your loved ones say to you, being hated for another’s mistakes being bombarded with unwanted stories because no one else will listen. Living inside someone else’s sorrow brings you down and makes you less than who you know you are or want to be. You want to hurt yourself and accept less than you deserve because someone else is telling you that you don’t deserve any better. Sometimes you wonder if living inside someone else’s sorrow is punishment for something you did at another time in your life that you don’t remember. Can one escape living inside someone else’s sorrow?
