This is what I see…Felina Silver Robinson

I am not flawless in my beauty

But my beauty is quite clear

My body sways with the wind

And despite my bending limbs

They remain perfectly in their place

The wind carries me to and fro

With seagulls on the go

The sun is sure to glow

Do you see my imperfections

Do you really even care

My limbs are nearly bare

I’ve been given a mighty scare

I wonder if you will still adore me

For I no longer stand tall

I’m bending everywhere

Reaching for your hands

You don’t return my affections

So I watch you rest your head

At the base of my stump

I feel your tears dropping down on

My roots

Sending life back into my

Perfect imperfections

As my caretakers begin to trim me
