I Laugh, hoping not to cry, because my tears don’t lie. They tell the unwanted stories, that my lips dare not say. If I hold up my head and open my eyes, you may just see what hides behind them. For now, my head hangs low, waiting for just the right joke, just the right story, just the right tickle, that will make me light up like the fourth of July or cackle like there’s no tomorrow. Someday I know I will break out and will no longer “Hide Behind The Laughter.“
