Eyes open, I see you. My ears hear your words, but my heart won’t accept them. I know denial, it has befriended me for way too long. I want what I want, but it is surely not what I need. Needing you is not in my best interest, nor is it in yours. I am indeed tempted to give in, but strong enough to fight you off. The wrath of those that we love is enough for me to do what’s right. I will forever be smitten but must love you from afar.
