If Only Things Were Different©

It would be ideal

If the air we breathed was clean

If the sky was clear

And free of tall buildings

If there were more trees than buildings

If there were more parks than bars

If trains and busses weren’t so costly

So fewer people would drive cars

It would be great

If people didn’t litter

It would be great if wild animals still had a home

Then maybe they wouldn’t be shot down when they cross the town line

It would be nice if everyone really understood what waste is and where it comes from

And how they can really reduce its presence

It would be nice if everyone care about the world they live in

It would be nice if we didn’t have to worry about the ground opening up one day

And swallowing us whole

Then it would be too late to make the changes

That should have been made long ago

It would be nice if I didn’t have to wish
