If you turned away the love I have that’s just for you

My heart would most surely break in two

Although I sit and pine after you

There is a thing or two that I wouldn’t do

I wouldn’t grovel at your feet

I wouldn’t beg for your love

Inside of me

Just below the surface

There is something that I call pride

It keeps me grounded

And makes me proud to be myself

You either take me as I am or leave me be

I won’t shed a tear

Instead I will find a truer love elsewhere

I won’t think twice about it

I know I will find the guy

Who’ll be glad if we pine together
