During my impromptu walk
Along the longest road
I looked down before me
To find something I’ve longed for
Something others may not clearly see
But something I can feel within me
I’ve longed for the feeling a long while
Almost as much as the miles I’ve laid behind me
The smile now upon my face is enough of a reward
For the simpleton I’ve since become
I needn’t share my news for I’m the only one who needs knowing
Others will soon see what’s become of me
