A Simple Woman, With A Heart of Gold©

I glance my reflection in the mirror
There is no glamour in my appearance
I’m no beauty
In fact, for years I refused to have a mirror
My friends think I’m crazy
They compliment and praise my appearance
They don’t seem to see what I see
To me it doesn’t matter
I know I’m a simple woman
With a heart of gold
I dedicate myself to family and friends
I’ll join any cause
I’ll fight anyone’s battles
Expecting nothing in return
But respect
So as the saying goes
Beauty may be skin deep
We all know that
Actions speak louder than words
The person you see
Is the person you get
No games or disguises
Just plain and simple me
