The Night Whispers My Name©

The night whispers my name
As I wander aimlessly down the darkened corners
Hoping to beat the ill intenders
Looking for a score
I pick up the pace
And walk with haste
Forgetting the picturesque view
No mugger cares if the neighborhood he taunts is classy or risque
A wallet or a purse remain the same
Leaving each of us to become
A target in their hunt for an
Undeserving prize
In their prowls of the night
As the night whispers my name
