Alone on the dock

Waiting for the moment

I’d say goodbye

This time I know it won’t be forever

I wave your ship away

Your head hangs low

As you see me slowly fade away

Now you sail into the deep blue ocean

On a mission to save yourself

Your task is tainted by your desire for fun

But there is none here

It’s just life having its way with you

Reminding you that it’s in control

And it slips you a moment now and again

Just to keep its hold on you

So stay on task if you want your moments to last
