Sometimes I feel so numb
I’m not sure if it’s the sadness or the lack of sun
I look to you and you pass without even a glance in my direction
I’ve waited so long for just the smallest sign
Just a sign that you know that I exist
I’d be happy with even just a smile
I don’t ask for much
Just enough to bring some life back
Into the lifeless stump called my heart
But you found me here weak and crying
My one wish is to feel just a bit of warm again
Just gently against my skin
So the numbness will no longer exist
