One day I closed my eyes

I soon realized all that had gone by

Now that my eyes are wide open

I fear I’ve missed too much

While I could not see

New buildings

New cars

Even vacuums that run on their own

George Jetson here we come

I feel like I may be put out to pasture

Do I still have the skills to keep on working

Or is there a young gun all set to take my place

I can’t even keep up the pace

Suddenly I tire and want to again close my eyes and

Sleep my life away
