The chill of the night stops me dead in my tracks
I cringe at the feel of wind upon my skin
The fear of death pounds at my chest
As the street lights shatter like cracked ice beneath my feet
How I long for the rise of the sun
To break the spell of the numbing state
knocking at the door for a cold winters day
