We spread out our blanket
And unpack the contents of our picnic basket
We lay flat on our backs amid the fluffy dandelions
The sun bears down hard against our skin
A subtle breeze gently tosses our hair about
Two seagulls are on standby waiting patiently for our departure
Hoping for a quick meal
Four elm trees seem to be our standing guards
An owl hiding between the leaves
And a couple of baby bunnies chasing their tails in the field
And  a second chance at life
Life couldn’t be more picture perfect here on the green
