The eyes that once led you to me

Lay lifeless in place upon your face

As you live on just as before

Somehow leaving behind the love we once shared

Now that you can no longer see me

You don’t hear my cries

Feel my yearning

Nor know that my heart is slowly breaking

You must know

That you don’t need your eyes to truly see me

If you lay your hands upon my face

And trace it up, down and all around

The face you once saw

Will become known to you once more

And I will no longer be

On the outside looking in
