Without invitation and truly undesired

You beckoned their doorstep with little warning

Your power is greater than anyone can handle

You stole all that was built

Friends and loved ones are now missing

You’ve picked and chosen who and what you leave behind

Everyone remaining stands weakened by your wrath

Glancing with dismay at what use to be

Piles of rubble

Waterlogged propperties

Mangled cars

Their cries get louder

Now as the sky darken

Everyone scatters hoping to find cover

Not much is left

Uncertainty is upon all of those remaining

Prayers and good will is all that can save them

Since Hurricane Matthew hit landfall
