I sit perplexed by the day

Not knowing what to say

How to react

So much pain

So much loss

Vehicles crashing

Adults without patience

In a rush to nowhere

Without a care of what unfolds before their eyes

Children changing

Changing into beings unknown to those who love them

Hearts racing

No time to calm them

Fear for losing

Losing the life you worked so hard for

Take a moment to breathe

To think

To see

To watch

The good things in life

What you could have

What you should have

If only you would make the time

The time to be just a bit more like me

Willing to see what I might be

As long as I get to go there with you
