The Power Of Sadness©

If you could count my tears
You would know the sadness that plagues me
I give my best to all that need me
But still sadness lurks by my side
I wear my smile cheek to cheek each day
With a spring in my step
And
Laughter in my voice
Sometimes I even break out in song
So now even I wonder
Why sadness has become my invisible new friend
I hold onto to hope that someone will soon come along
And
Snap me out of the this dreary old fog
Because I just can’t seem to fathom
That I’m meant to be in this pattern
For the rest of my days
I truly don’t wish to remain in a haze
Do you have the power to save me?
